Known for his versatility Jeremy Bruyere of Paris is an acclaimed French classical and jazz bassist, bandleader, performer, music educator, and composer born in 1985 who appears on more than 50 recordings.

After graduating his masters in classical double bass with a summa cum laude at CNSMD of Lyon in 2011, he then studied and performed jazz in New York for two years at the New School for Jazz and contemporary music. 

Throughout his classical and jazz studies he was granted some of the prestigious scholarship : "Siena Jazz Workshop" 2010; Adami 2010, Mécénat Musical Société Générale 2010,  Fulbright 2011; New School  2011/2012; Fondation Bleustein Blanchet  2011; Eubie Blake Fundation  2012.

In the classical world he has toured, recorded and performed in festivals and venues all over the world with the likes of great classical ensembles such as Orchestre National de LyonVerbier Festival Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria (Australia), Gustave Mahler Jugendorchesterles musiciens du LouvreEnsemble Appassionato,  Orchestre des concerts de PocheArod QuartetVoce QuartetAkilon QuartetEnsemble des Force Majeures, and became principal bassist at Geneva Camerata since 2017.

As a jazz bassist, he has played, recorded, and toured with many great musicians, including but not limited to Thomas EnhcoLaurent Coulondre, Jacky Terrasson, Tigran Hamassyan, John ellis, Jon Batiste, Baptiste Trotignon, Didier Lockwood, André Ceccarelli, Cyrille Aimée, Minino Garay, Ibrahim Maalouf, Nancy Harms, Avishai Cohen,  Melodie Gardot, Nicolas Folmer, Rick Marguiza, Mike Moreno, Ary Hoenig, Joel Frahm, Eric Harland, Ulysses Owens Jr, Antonio Sanchez, Taylor Eigsti, Sachal Vasandani, Stephane Huchard, Jeremy Pelt, just to name a few.

As a soloist, band leader and sideman, he has won several awards such as : 3rd soloist price at La Défense Jazz Festival 2006; 1st Band Prize at Suivez le d'jazz Contest 2005 & 2007 Bass in Copenhagen Bass Grant 2012; 1st Prize at the International Jazz Competition Trophée Matmut 2017 with his Quartet. And last but not least, Victoire du Jazz "Revelation 2016", "Instrumental Artist 2020" and Academy du Jazz Award for "Best French Jazz Album" 2020 with Laurent Coulondre Trio. 

After having spent two busy years in New York City, he settled back in Paris in 2013 where he’s been very active on the scenes. Also, alongside with his quartet, he released his debut album named “Pictures” with a band including his long time partners and friends Laurent Coulondre, Arthur Alard and Maxime Berton. 

Since 2015 he is a TV composer for various productions such as PERNEL MEDIATSVP, PREMIERE LIGNE productions and appears as the main composer of a dozen of documentaries for numerous channels such as TF1, France 2, France 3, France 5, Arte, Canal, RMC Découverte.

Since 2014 jeremy has been teaching on a regular basis at Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL) and more recently at Pole Supérieur de Boulogne Billancourt.

Finally, Jeremy is a part time photographer and has contributed on many album coverspublic relation releases and much more.

Jeremy is an endorsed Yamaha Artist since 2020 and Fusion Bag since 2022. He plays the 6 strings TRB John Patitucci 2, the 5 strings Nathan East BBNE2, the BBP35 & the SLB300 Pro.
